About Allison A. Glatstein ...
I am a Licensed
Marriage Family Therapist (License Number
MFC 45664)
with the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences
and serve individuals, families and couples.
I am also a Credentialed Art Thereapist (Registration Number 07058)
I conduct art therapy groups to Alzheimer's
& Dementia Patients, as well as Cancer Patients.
I have worked extensively with children and teenagers in therapeutic settings,
from schools to residential treatment. My approach is nurturing and supportive. However, I do gently challenge my clients
when it is necessary. I draw strongly from attachment theory, object relations theory and interpersonal neurobiology. I
integrate both talk and art therapy into sessions in order to explore unresolved issues. I believe that trust and
psychological safety are essential to the therapeutic process and that the therapeutic relationship serves as the
foundation for change.
Education
B.A. in Studio Art from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California
M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy with Emphasis in Art Therapy
from Loyola Marymount University in Westchester, California
