  About Maelisa Eddy ...

     I graduated from Pacific Oaks College with a Master's of Arts degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. I am a member of both the state and local chapters of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.) I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (License Number MFC 38019) with the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.

     I have worked extensively in clinical settings with adolescents and have been able to bring my 35+ years of experience in the field of education to bear on that work. Through my association with the Pasadena Mental Health Center, I was able to work with the Pasadena Police Department in providing quality therapy and rehabilitation for "first offenders," adolescents who had committed their first crime and were given the option to attend counseling in order to avoid a criminal record. In addition to working with adolescents, I have worked with couples, families and individuals. I have also had the opportunity to work in depth with women on such issues as childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence.

     In my practice, I utilize various theoretical orientations depending upon the needs of the client such as, the psychodynamic approach, object-relations, the cognitive approach and methods inspired by Freud.
