What we are looking for:
Licensed MFT’s
At Soultenders we feel competent therapists do not offer solutions or take sides. They help clients work out solutions according to individual values and lifestyles and thus we realize the importance of using a variety of mediums as well as different theoretical orientations in which to provide a personalized experience of therapy for our clients.
Soultenders originated out of a Depth Psychological perspective utilizing much of the work of Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell and James Hillman yet we realize the importance of offering the community a multitude of different types of counseling options as well as theoretical orientations.
We offer a variety of things to help new and experienced MFT’s an opportunity to enhance their work in psychotherapy with clients as well as many different trainings in understanding how to run a private practice.

As Soultenders continues to grow we plan to offer free to our associates, interns and trainees ongoing seminars and training to help facilitate growth in your private practice as well as obtain continuing education credit for licensure.
MFT Interns/Trainees:
In our prospective trainees/interns we look, not for perfection or experience, but for a genuine interest in learning and discovery. During the interview process, we attempt to determine your readiness to participate in our program by looking for the following:
Professional and dedicated to working in the field with a variety of clients
The ability to take constructive criticism.
The desire to hold a caseload of at least 5 clients a week (even if that means working some weekends).
Reasonably able to be aware of and willing to take responsibility for your work with clients.
A desire to participate in activities Soultenders sponsors as well as other pertinent activities contributing to the field.
You will be trained towards being able to handle yourself in the private practice setting. You will be provided with keys, business cards, office supplies, office equipment, marketing support, and voicemail. You will learn to sign up for rooms, negotiate fees for the institute, maintain client files, assess and screen clients, and communicate with insurance companies. Interns in this program are responsible for generating paying clients. Soultenders will provide continued training and support in this process.
Eligibility
You are eligible for the program if you meet the following requirements:
Graduation from or current enrollment in a master's degree program leading to licensure.
Ready to begin to learn how to acquire clients.
Ready to pay for training and be paid for your services.
Maintenance of a mal-practice insurance policy.
Completion of the enrollment process.
Supervision
This agency meets all requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Trainers and supervisors are qualified to supervise 3000 MFT intern hours, and 1000 associate Clinical Social Worker hours.
BBS requires different ratios of supervision hours to client hours for trainees, interns, and social work associates. Keep up to date on the ratio that applies to you.
Supervision hours are signed off weekly on the form provided by BBS. Hours will not be signed off during the weeks you miss supervision. Please bring your summary forms with you to supervision. Counseling hours will be signed off for the hours you gained in the week previous to your supervision session. Hours must be signed off weekly. You will receive both individual and group supervision opportunities.
Malpractice
Although Soultenders carries it's own professional and premise liability policies, you must also carry a current malpractice policy while in this program.
