Misha Elder began her career in community mental health providing therapeutic services at Five Acres-The Boys and Girls Aid Society of Los Angeles County in the Foster Care, Adoptions, and Deaf Services divisions. During that time, Misha conducted MAT assessments, provided individual, family and group psychotherapy, and facilitated over 50 adoptions in the LA County child welfare system.
After 6 years in community mental health, Misha transitioned to providing psychotherapy at several group therapy practices, including LifeStance Health and Mindful Health Solutions. Inspired by the growing rates of patients experiencing PTSD and OCD during the COVID-19 pandemic, Misha pursued additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention therapy (ERP) to better meet the needs of her clients.
Misha Elder is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (for individuals and couples), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), and Solution Focused therapy. She provides psychotherapy to adults and couples and is fluent in English and American Sign Language.
Misha Elder was born and raised in Seattle, WA. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from New York University and her Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College-Silberman School of Social Work. Misha completed her fieldwork experience in New York City, primarily working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth and adults.

In her free time, Misha enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, cycling, kickboxing, and watching true crime tv.
