Knar Meloyan, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Burbank, offering both in-person and virtual therapy. Born in Armenia and raised in Southern California, she brings a personal understanding of cultural transitions, identity formation, and the complexities of belonging.

She specializes in trauma and PTSD, relationship challenges, grief, and supporting adults through identity development and major life transitions. Knar believes every person holds inherent strength and resilience and works alongside clients to recognize their efforts, make meaning of their experiences, and move toward healing with greater self-trust and agency. Her approach is collaborative and deeply compassionate, incorporating warmth and humor to foster connection and relief.

As an immigrant therapist, Knar creates space for clients to explore cultural and intercultural identity and the sociopolitical systems that shape their lives. She honors the cultural, social, and spiritual contexts influencing each person’s strengths, struggles, and worldview. Her work is grounded in empowerment and self-advocacy, helping clients build more fulfilling and confident relationships with themselves and others.

Knar’s clinical experience includes early work with children on the autism spectrum in community settings, as well as extensive work with families, couples, and children during her clinical training in Chicago and as an associate at Soultenders. She is trained in EMDR and integrates it thoughtfully based on clients’ goals and readiness. She is also exploring the role of music and sound in healing and looks forward to incorporating these elements into her practice.

Knar earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and attending live music and theater performances.
