About

"If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got!" Albert Einstein

My ideal client would be a teenager dealing with anxiety or a woman of color coping with the stressors of daily life which causes anxiety and depression. The teen's issues consist of anxiety around their peers from feeling inadequate. In addition to, transitioning into adolescence or moving into young adulthood. These kiddos need re-assurance in knowing that they are good enough and that they are strong enough to push through these early stages of life. These clients will work on decreasing their anxieties and building their self-worth. The woman of color juggles roles between motherhood, bread winner, caregiver, and is busy making sure everyone else's needs are met (the same time neglecting her own needs). Client needs strategies to learn to balance her stressful life, will work on self-care, and realize that it is okay to stop and take care of her own needs. Both clients need to know that they are doing the best that they can and that these stressors are temporary. My specialty is working with teens that suffer from social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression. I also treat women of color with their own set of anxieties and depression from working through life dealing with discrimination, institutional racism, and women issues. I treat anxiety disorders, depression, adolescent challenges, women's issues, and issues that surround women of color. I use a Person-Centered approach and my modality I use most often is, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. If you need a partner and a cheerleader to help you walk this journey, we will work collaboratively on what goals and treatment you feel best fits you. My job is to provide hope and motivation. I will also empower and nudge you forward so that you will believe in your own strengths and capabilities.
