About

"The purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free." -Rollo May

Therapy is both an art and a science. While some practitioners emphasize one versus the other, I believe in integrating both equally into my work. Midwest-raised and trained in the science of psychology at both the University of Iowa and the University of San Francisco, I was able to explore and expand the passion that I had been developing for understanding the human mind, emotions and behavior since I was an adolescent. My time at USF demonstrated to me that therapy is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’. Multicultural research shows that no one theory, orientation, or set of techniques could or would ever work for everyone. Rather, it is the helping relationship itself and the fit between Therapist and Client that actually mediates the process of change and personal life growth. My commitment is to always provide ethically and clinically sound therapy that adapts to your needs, to who you are, and to what you are looking for out of therapy. Drawing largely upon Cognitive-Behavioral and Humanistic theory, and incorporating elements of Psychodynamic, Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies, my approach is essentially integrative. In my over a decade of serving the Greater Los Angeles Community, I have gained competency in effectively treating mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, substance and process addictions, personality disorders, and a variety of traumatic life events in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ranging from short-term, intensive treatment to long-term, depth psychotherapy. I truly look forward to serving your therapy needs. Thanks for your time.
