This 3-hour law and ethics course focuses on knowledge needed to complete clinical reviews and defining medical necessity. Participants will gain understanding into what insurance companies focus on and are looking for in clinical reviews so that clinicians will confidently pass audits.

  1. Clinicians will expand basic knowledge about justifying medical necessity and other relevant clinical elements during clinical reviews so that they can better advocate for their patient’s mental health treatment.
  2. Determine how to use the behavioral language required by insurance companies to facilitate delivery of services to clients
  3. clinicians will adapt treatment plans to optimally highlight their client’s diagnosis to increase positive clinical review outcomes.
