About

Helping adults from Latinx and bicultural families navigate complex relationships, cultural expectations, and the process of building healthier boundaries.

Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, high-functioning individuals who carry a deep sense of responsibility toward their families. They often find themselves navigating complicated dynamics with parents or extended family, cultural expectations around loyalty and sacrifice, and the emotional weight of being the one who holds things together. While these roles can reflect love and strength, they can also create patterns of guilt, over-responsibility, and difficulty setting boundaries.

I have increasingly supported clients navigating family conflict, emotional distance, or estrangement within Latinx and bicultural family systems. Many individuals raised in these family environments hold strong values around loyalty, respect, and connection while also struggling with painful relational dynamics. Therapy can be a place to explore these experiences without judgment, where cultural values, family loyalty, and personal well-being are all honored and thoughtfully examined.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with nine years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, and emotional distress. My work focuses on helping clients deepen their understanding of themselves, strengthen communication, and build healthier and more fulfilling relationships.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and insight-oriented. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), mentalization-based approaches, psychodynamic and relational frameworks, and trauma-informed care. Therapy is tailored to each client’s unique experiences, goals, and cultural context while also offering practical tools to support meaningful and lasting change.

I often support clients navigating:
• Family conflict and complicated relationships with parents
• Boundary setting within Latinx or bicultural family systems
• Intergenerational trauma and relational wounds
• Guilt and responsibility tied to family roles
• Anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions
• Communication challenges in close relationships
