About
I believe clients are the experts in their own life which I enjoy learning about through their own perspectives. I strive to provide my clients with a safe and nonjudgmental space to feel comfortable with being vulnerable and sharing their experiences. My tone is soft, warm, and compassionate.
My name is Marycruz Moran and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in the state of California. I am fluent in English and Spanish and my clinical focus includes working with adults who may be experiencing challenges with life transitions, depression, anxiety, and generational trauma.
My approach
My goal as a therapist is to be a facilitator in supporting you with your journey to gaining awareness of your strengths, the tools that you have to help you cope, and to further empower you by teaching new strategies to help you face the issues that may be overpowering at the moment. Techniques I use in my practice include cognitive behavioral theories (CBT), mindfulness, expressive arts, trauma-informed care, and a family systems approach.
My focus
I have experience working with a diverse population and I look forward to supporting my clients with understanding and managing symptoms and behaviors related to stress, anxiety, life transitions, generational trauma, depression, emotional regulation, and unhealthy relationships.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is a collaborative one. We will discuss what you would like your outcome to be from therapy and develop goals to address those needs.
My first session with you
During the first session, we will review the necessary paperwork and spend time talking about what brought you to therapy to further understand what we will be working on during our time together. During this first session, a connection also starts to develop and an understanding of what it means to be in therapy.
