About
"I hear the words, the thoughts, the feeling tones, the personal meaning, even the meaning that is below the conscious intent of the speaker.
Sometimes too, in a message which superficially is not very important, I hear a deep human cry that lies buried and unknown far below the surface of the person.
So I have learned to ask myself, can I hear the sounds and sense the shape of this other person's inner world? Can I resonate to what this person is saying so deeply that I sense the meanings this person is afraid of, yet would like to communicate, as well as those this person knows?" ~ Carl Rogers
I am a bilingual (English/Armenian) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have worked in an array of settings from school principal, community mental health, and as a volunteer in non-profit organizations.
I utilize a Client Centered approach with empathetic listening and create an atmosphere in which my clients feel safe to express their feelings with certainty, where they can feel that they are being understood rather than judged.
I also focus on facilitating self-discovery, self-acceptance, and provide means toward healing and positive growth.
