About
“We must never forget that we may also find meaning in life even when confronted with a hopeless situation, when facing a fate that cannot be changed. For what then matters is to bear witness to the uniquely human potential at its best, which is to transform a personal tragedy into a triumph, to turn one’s predicament into a human achievement. When we are no longer able to change a situation—we are challenged to change ourselves.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning
I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Lauren Barrera-Price, LMFT, LPCC, a Black and LGBTQ+ therapist who provides a warm, genuine, and affirming space where you can feel understood, supported, and free to be yourself.
Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what you’ve experienced, and better understand the patterns that may be impacting your life today. I’m especially interested in exploring how childhood experiences, relationships, and attachment have shaped the way you understand yourself and connect with others. Together, we’ll build insight, strengthen emotional regulation, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
My approach is humanistic and trauma-informed, incorporating CBT and relational techniques to support your emotional well-being and the whole person—not just the challenges bringing you to therapy. I’m especially passionate about supporting BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other marginalized individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, burnout, and major life transitions.
Clients often describe me as genuine, grounded, compassionate, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative—you bring your experiences, perspective, and expertise about your own life, and I bring clinical tools, curiosity, and support to help you move forward.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You just have to be willing to begin.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy cooking and baking, taking yoga classes, and spending time caring for my animals.
