About
Greetings, Talofa & Aloha Kakou, welcome to the islands, a warm space of support, laughter, music, and year-round flip-flops! But also, a space of hard work and self-mastery!
A little about myself, I was born and raised here in SoCAL so I am familiar with different communities and walks of life. I am Islander and Asian; my parents immigrated to California from the Pacific.
The brain is amazing in its ability to bounce back! Come see my EMDR ball, you will simply follow it right & left on my screen. You might know this already, but each night when we sleep we will have minutes of REM sleep (rapid eye-movement sleep). We use these same eye movements in session to stimulate both sides of the brain (called bilateral stimulation). The hope is that we can use this tool to quiet things down the thoughts, relax the feelings, and also blur out clear disturbing images that sit in your conscious mind.
This tool (bilateral stimulation) is the basis for EMDR therapy (please look it up online, it works fast). I am trained in all EMDR protocols (e.g. trauma, crisis, phobias, impulse control). We can also use this tool for general mood (e.g. anxiety, stress, panic, depression and low motivation).
There's so much more to it, let me be your teacher, your coach, and your partner in this journey :)
